Hessann Farooqi, Executive Director - Boston Climate Action Network

Episode 14

Hessann Farooqi is the Executive Director of the Boston Climate Action Network (BCAN), a nonprofit that helps people push for climate action in Boston and Massachusetts.

With Hessann in charge, BCAN has helped pass laws and supported the city’s climate action plan. Their main focus is buildings since they create most of Boston’s pollution.

Hessann started as an intern at Boston University’s sustainability office, where he learned from his mentor, Erica Madison. She taught him how important it is to build strong relationships and support others.

Now, he works to bring different groups together to solve problems related to climate, transportation, and housing. He believes real change happens when people work as a team.
