Phillip Kim, Executive Director - LoveSetMatch
Phillip Kim is the Executive Director of LoveSetMatch, a nonprofit that teaches tennis and fitness with a STEM twist to kids in need across Los Angeles.
Starting in 2019, the group now has 17 coaches working in parks and schools around LA County.
Phillip was a tennis pro at a fancy hotel when he met a couple from LA County Parks and Rec. That meeting led him to give free tennis lessons in East LA.
Seeing what the community needed, he stopped looking for the next tennis star and started using tennis to teach and mentor kids.
LoveSetMatch created a special tennis program to help students in East LA stay in school and graduate.
With Phillip’s help, the program has grown, teaching kids tennis and important life skills.

"We offer tennis lessons. And so for instance, for myself, I give, fairly high-level tennis lessons to people who can afford it, and 100% of that money is a donation directly to the non-profit."
